Genesis 6:3 and Microbes; pure coincidence??
Have you ever wondered why no one lives pass the age of 120? Why is it that the oldest person (verified) in the world is only 114? Why is it that no one in this day and age ever passes that mark?
Well, i’ve never really thought about it, but…
Here’s what i learnt in lecture yesterday!!!
According to my lecturer, the microbes in our bodies are wired to last only 120 years. This baffles scientists as they can’t understand why something that has been working fine for so long would suddenly break down, not giving any sign of ‘falling apart’ till close to the 120th year. The genes can no longer synthesize proteins and hence can’t conduct any form of cell repair. This renders them unstable upon cell damage thus leading to cell destruction.
They have attempted countless experiments to try to make the cells last longer, but it fails all the time.
Here’s what’s recorded in the Bible:
Genesis 6:3 (CEV) ” Then the LORD said, “I won’t let my life-giving breath remain in anyone forever.” No one will live for more than one hundred and twenty years”
Now what say you? Pure coincidence? Can’t be right? 120yrs; that’s what the scientists have concluded to be the maximum age for human beings, the exact number that God said.
Don’t just take my word for it. Do a quick research.
There are mentions of a french lady by the name of Jeanne Calment. Apparently, she lived till 122. But a newspaper report stated that she lived up till 121! (http://www.lubbockonline.com/news/080597/frances.htm)
But look at the year which she was born and then look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longevity_claims
It’s highly likely that there were mistakes regarding her birth certificate and hence the recording of her birthday.
Think about it. 120 years. A coincidence? Or God’s truth?
